FAQS

How long does it take the studio to create a footage of animation?

This is very much depends on the style of animation that you're looking for.

Animation Design, the number of characters and the type of medium can affect the length of time taken to produce your desired animated idea. A 5 second sequence could take between a few hours to a few days  depending on your brief. Nonetheless, your initial meetings with the studio will help explain how your project can hit your deadline and budget.

Describe the Shed Thirty Six animation pipeline.

Pitch

The initial meeting is a comprehensive discussion about your overall concept. We delve into animation style preferences, budget considerations, and project deadlines. Once these aspects are agreed upon, we proceed with formalizing the agreement through contracts.

Pre Production

Following the initial meeting, we dive into the aesthetic element of your project. This involves building your animated world, starting from character designs to test animations. This phase is where the creative vision begins to take shape.

Production

The fun part begins! Whether it's stop motion or 2D animation, we get to work, bringing the inanimate to life and turning your creative vision into a dynamic reality.

Post Production

The completed animation undergoes post-production, where we add the finishing touches. This can include color correction, special effects, and other enhancements. Subsequently, every rendered shot is meticulously edited together to create the final product.

Will my budget and deadline fit into the animation?

Shed Thirty Six embraces the latest tools available that make production more cost- effective and time- efficient.

A notable program we use in the studio is Toon Boom Harmony. This tool has been a game changer for the studio as it has introduced techniques that have made the animation process less time consuming and more cost- effective compared to the earlier analogue days. In our pitch meetings, we can discuss in more detail how we can stick to your budget while also delivering the projects that's reflective of your brief.

Can we use incorporate pre- made design work into the project?

Of course. This is very helpful as we'll have a visual representation of what you're looking for.

Whether you have a mood board, character design or concept art, this is a brilliant starting point for the project. This means that the studio doesn't have spend time and resources in the pre- production stages  as we have the design work already done.

What other services does the studio provide other than animation?

In conjunction with animation, the studio also provides illustrations and graphic designs.

Some clients may not want a full animation with characters and instead would like detailed illustrations and graphics provided for their project. Like animation, it is a process the studio enjoys and uses the same pipeline to deliver your desired illustrations and graphics.

Would you be open to new techniques that aren't demonstrated in your showreel?

Shed Thirty Six always prioritises flexibility. We're always open to a new aesthetic that the studio hasn't explored before.

If you propose a certain style, we can discuss how this can be achieved in our pitch meeting.  Follow our meeting, time would be spent exploring tutorials that can inspire the studio's method on how to achieve your brief.
