POSTCARDS BY CAROUSEL
HM: I was approached by Carousel in Brighton to create a set of animated sequences for their documentary project, Postcards. The project revolved around presenting stories told by members of the public in Worthing, East Sussex. Filmmaker Kitty Wallace suggested the idea that one of these stories could be interpreted with animation.
The storyline is based on real events involving 80 year old Jennifer from Worthing, who saved a little boy from drowning in the sea after falling out of his boat. The narrative would also be
HM: The animation had to use very minimal colour while not removing the emotional core of the story. For this reason, I explored the work of Lyndon Hayes who uses few colours in his work.
Harry is a most delightful guy to work with. He is very considerate and respectful to the brief given and always gives 110%. He always make sure we were on the same page of thinking and creating ideas, he would deliver mood boards and illustration sketches to check he was delivering want I wanted.
